OH YES! We can really see it now and WE LOVE IT! Spring has arrived, trees are leafed out and daylilies, irises and hundreds of native North Carolina wildflower species are in bloom, bringing a beautiful punch of color to our roadways and homes. Boots are being exchanged for sandals and we are using our decks and porches for morning coffee (O.K, maybe we still need a light sweater!) Spring and summer bring wonderful activities and events to Franklin. Let's take a look at what's going on!
Franklin is known as the "Gem Capital of the World" and gem mining has been a favorite activity for visitors for years. May is especially popular as Gem Shows take center stage. This weekend, Franklin plays host to two of the longest running and most popular gem shows in the region. Vendors come from across the United States and the shows attract hundreds of gem enthusiasts. It's a great way to spend a day. The shows are in close proximity to one another for driving convenience. Both shows feature rocks, minerals, rough and cut gems, jewelry, beads, supplies and more. Here's the scoop!
